THE GRIEF BRIEF RETREAT
Explore Your Grief
ORANA, BRIDGETOWN, WA
4 Days - 3 Nights Immersive Retreat
N O V E M B E R 7 TH - 10 TH 2025
GAIN CLARITY AND UNDERSTANDING, EXPLORE YOUR GRIEF, RECONNECT WITH YOURSELF.
Grief is a journey none of us choose, and yet it changes everything.
It can feel isolating, overwhelming, and confusing — like you're losing your mind. But you're not. You're grieving, and that's something we can learn to understand together.
This retreat offers a gentle space to explore your grief through honest conversation, shared experience, and compassionate support. In the safety of nature and community, we explore together the emotional landscape of loss, with reference to a variety of grief frameworks used by grief experts — not as rules, but as a map to help you make sense of what you're feeling.
WHY THIS MATTERS
In the Western world, we’re often told to “get over it,” to hide our pain, to carry on as if we’re not breaking inside. But suppressing grief manifests in the body — through anxiety, illness, emotional outbursts, and chronic stress. I created this retreat so you don’t have to carry it all alone anymore.
This is a space where you are allowed to be — no masks, no shame, no spiritual bypassing. You’ll be met exactly where you are.
Because when we give ourselves permission to feel, we don’t just heal ourselves — we begin to heal the collective.
JOY, VITALITY, AND. FREEDOM FORM WHEN GRIEF IS HONOURED.
Regulate Your State
Designed to support the body and mind during grief, regulate your emotions and reconnect with yourself.
TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES WE’LL EXPLORE…
Daily body check-ins to gently observe your physical, emotional, and spiritual states
Grounding vinyasa yoga, and movement sessions to express what words cannot.
Therapeutic journaling to help you process the unspoken
Somatic breathwork, sauna and ice bath therapy
Group sharing to remind you: you are never alone.
These practices will help to activate your natural feel-good chemicals (serotonin + dopamine), often depleted in times of sorrow.

Meet Your Facilitator
SAMANTHA BACHOFEN VON ECHT
Founder Orana Retreat | Grief Guide | Mother | Space Holder
The heart behind Orana Retreat and your facilitator for The Grief Brief. Samantha’s intention for this retreat is simple but powerful:
To offer a sanctuary for you to come as you are, to feel what you need to feel, and to be gently held through it all.
Grief is to be embraced, not avoided — it’s a sacred invitation, and you deserve a safe space to honour yours, fully.
Samantha’s path to holding this space began long before Orana was born. As a Speech Pathologist, she spent years understanding the nuances of communication and the invisible threads that connect us. But it was grief — raw, personal, and transformative — that truly opened her heart to this work.
In 2019, she walked the Camino de Santiago. Step by step, and envisioned a place where people could come home to themselves — where they could be fully seen, without distraction, performance, or pressure. That vision became Orana Retreat in the lush heart of Bridgetown, WA.
Throughout this retreat, Samantha will be guiding you through practices and conversations that invite you deeper into your experience — not to fix it, but to feel it and better understand it.
Samantha holds space with steadiness, softness, and deep reverence. As a devoted mother of four and a woman who has walked through the depths of loss herself, she brings a lived understanding of the courage it takes to meet grief fully. Her energy is grounded, nurturing, and intuitive — offering a calm presence and unwavering support throughout the retreat journey.
Remember: You are not broken. You are not too much. You are not alone. You are welcome here — just as you are.
More than anything, this retreat is a space to:
- Remind you that you're not alone
- Build connections with others walking a similar path
- Leave with a support network to carry with you beyond the retreat.
If you're ready to understand your grief in a safe, nurturing environment — to feel, to learn, and to begin healing — we’re here for you.
We’re honoured that you’re considering this space to heal and be held. For any enquiries about The Grief Brief Retreat, please email us
